Santiago is Managing Partner of Castellán Legal | Tax | Accounting. Santiago's position combines the management of the service firm, with the development and execution of its strategy, and the personalized follow-up and attention to clients and their affairs.

In his more than 18 years of experience in the firm, Santiago has advised clients from various sectors on mainly corporate issues. Likewise, his practice has focused on supporting and assisting foreign firms that have chosen to settle in Uruguay. And he has extensive experience in insolvency matters, having advised and assisted multiple companies and organizations with complex financial difficulties in restructuring their liabilities.

Santiago has been distinguished by the prestigious publication Chambers and Partners, in the Latin America and Global 2022 Edition, as a prominent lawyer in Uruguay in the Corporate/M&A practice: "The promising partner Santiago Castellan Batista of Castellán Abogados enters the ranking this year after receiving strong praise from interviewees. Santiago is a lawyer graduated from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the Universidad de la República (UDELAR), later graduated as a Master in Business Law from the Universidad de Montevideo (UM).

He is a member of the Bar Association of Uruguay (CAU), and a member of Vistage, the world's leading organization for executive coaching and peer advisory.
