Read moreDoctor in Law and Social Sciences, graduated from the University of the Republic. Her professional practice and training is focused on Labor Law, with a postgraduate degree in Labor Law (University of Montevideo). Since joining the firm in 2013 "Castellán Legal | Fiscal | Contable" she has led the Labor Department, becoming a partner in 2016.
Her experience includes advising companies on labor relations and defining human resources policies, as well as negotiating and drafting employment contracts and collective agreements, answering queries, representing in litigation, and assisting in both individual and collective conflicts before the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. She specializes in managing collective labor matters and particularly in union disputes. She has advised and represented both national and international companies in important union negotiations from different sectors, playing a key role in planning and strategy. She also has experience in participating in various projects to implement better labor practices in companies.
In 2024, she was recognized for the third time in Band 3 of Chambers and Partners in Labour & Employment, thanks to the assessment of our clients. She has also been highlighted by Legal500 and Leaders League - Latin America.
She is currently the titular delegate of the employer sector in the wage negotiations representing companies of Group 01 subgroup 07.2 (Food Industry - Feedlots).
She has published several articles of interest in labor matters in different newsletters and legal magazines, and has participated in various courses/seminars as a speaker, such as: corporate criminal liability in workplace accidents; current regulations on occupational safety and health, workplace harassment - company responsibility and preventive actions.
Between 2014 and 2020, she was an Assistant Professor in Labor Law at the Faculty of Law at the Catholic University of Uruguay. She is a Member of the Uruguayan Association of Labor Law and Social Security; member of the Bar Association of Uruguay and Mentor at OMEU (Organization of Women Entrepreneurs of Uruguay, which brings together businesswomen, leaders, entrepreneurs, and references to promote their professional development).
